Alec Zaslav

Product manager. People rarely arrive with requirements, so I start by digging out what they actually need.

I own products end to end, usually as the only PM on them, so nobody hands me a plan. I work out what to build, make the case for it, and get engineering, leadership and the people using it moving the same way, whether those people pour drinks or keep a healthcare enterprise running.

That has meant shaping QR tipping for businesses with no point-of-sale system, moving a live neobank program across four vendors while supporting the restaurants on it, and deciding what an enterprise AI knowledge platform takes on next.

Work

How I work

  • Start with the people using it.

Most of my decisions start with who is on the other end. For QR tipping, that meant a guest holding a phone, and a coffee shop and a casino that each wanted the experience to feel like their own.

  • Get the foundation right first.

The part people get excited about usually depends on a less exciting part holding up. Clean data before AI extraction. Compliance before the revenue product. Trusted sources before answers anyone relies on.

  • Say no on purpose.

Lumina runs on a six-person team, so capacity is real. Teams regularly bring us requests that fall outside what the platform is for, or sources we can't trust enough to use. Turning those down is how it stays good for the people already on it.

CVS Health, contract

Technical Product Manager Nov 2025 to present · Remote

Lumina is CVS Health's internal GenAI knowledge platform. I own the roadmap, partner intake, and the measurement practice behind its reporting, alongside a four-person engineering team.

  • Scaled Lumina from roughly 800 to 6,500 active users and roughly 100 to 1,100+ daily interactions, taking it from an internal tool to an enterprise-wide knowledge layer across pharmacy, health benefits, and technology operations, with satisfaction at 8.3 out of 10 and NPS +54 on a screened population of 193 respondents
  • Authored four consecutive quarterly executive roadmaps, rewriting what the product was for and moving engineering capacity across four phases: content breadth, connectivity and governance, agentic capability, and measurement
  • Designed and built the Airtable CRM that runs Lumina operations, consolidating partner intake, source ingestion, feedback, and surveys into one system the team works out of daily
  • Delivered 38 backlog items across four quarters
  • Built the measurement practice the platform reports through, designing the survey instruments and the dashboards leadership reads. My director named me the survey setup resource for three teams as the organization set its ROI standards
  • Own partner intake across 30+ named teams, assessing roughly two inbound requests a week for fit, scope, and whether to say no
  • Partner with the data scientists who own source governance on content quality across 200+ ingested enterprise sources in a regulated healthcare environment

TipHaus, Earned Tip Access

Product Manager May 2023 to Nov 2024 · Remote

TipHaus makes tip-management software for restaurants. I ran Earned Tip Access, its neobank product, as sole product owner, from a handful of pilot businesses to a program spanning 2,000+ locations.

  • Owned Earned Tip Access end to end, a neobank giving tipped restaurant workers daily access to their earned tips, and grew it from roughly 20 businesses and 200 users to 200+ businesses across 2,000+ locations and 20,000+ tipped employees with access
  • Led a three-quarter migration of the entire banking stack across four partners, moving every business tip-distribution account on the platform and both payout rails, 1,600+ HausMoney accounts carrying $3M+ in volume and HausDirect push-to-card, with minimal service interruptions
  • Cut program costs by 40 percent, halving what dormant savings accounts were costing, and took the case to the CEO directly
  • Recovered every balance owed by client businesses in full, including one in the five figures, working failed transfers, unpaid invoices, duplicate payouts and churned accounts case by case
  • Won a company-wide innovation competition with a tiered-usage pricing model proposed to replace a flat fee, built on how customers from single cafes to multi-location chains actually used the product
  • Wrote the wireframes, requirements and acceptance criteria for QR Tipping, Role-Based Permissions, Enterprise Settings and more across the product suite

Inveniam Capital Partners

Associate Product Manager, Data Dictionary Aug 2022 to Feb 2023 · Remote

Data Science Intern, Data Team Oct 2021 to Jul 2022 · Remote

Inveniam builds data infrastructure for private markets. I worked on the data dictionary behind its AI extraction for commercial real estate, starting as a data science intern and moving into product.

  • Built the data dictionary behind AI extraction from commercial real estate documents, covering 500 to 1,000 properties across office, retail, industrial and multifamily
  • Translated manual analyst workflows into machine-readable specifications, holding property-type nuances without breaking what a field meant across asset classes
  • Ran weekly iteration cycles with an external AI development partner, closing coverage gaps surfaced in testing
  • Served as the data subject matter expert across internal engineering and two outside development firms
